Are you looking to rent a room, or for others with whom to home hunt?
We are newlyweds in our early 50s who feel and look younger. I am Kaaren [pronounced CAR-ren] and my husband is Andre.
We are looking for a new place to call home which is less isolated and an easier commute to downtown SF, as Andre works at Embarcadero 3.
We would love to live in The City, but in the East Bay with easy access to BART (by walking and/or frequent bus) would be great [ El Cerrito, Albany, Berkeley, Emmeryville, Alameda, etc. ].
Our price range is about $800-1200 plus utilities, depending on how much Andre's commute would be (both money and time) and what is near by.
We need a medium to large bedroom on the same floor as the kitchen, preferably with a large closet and its own bathroom. If we are living with others, there must be more than one bathroom (although a half bath is fine; I sometimes need immediate access to a toilet). Access to storage would be great. We don't have a car. We need laundry facilities in the building.
There are advantages to living with us. I am a font of silly jokes and a great listener. Andre has worked as a chef and in IT. We both love to cook, and to share the results. [Is there anything you don't eat?] He is quite handy around the house. I give a great shoulder massage.
We love animals, although we don't currently have pets, and may be allergic to long-haired cats.
We don't drink or use drugs, but it is fine if you drink in moderation. We do love and laugh. Andre is on a Monday night bowling team in Albany. I enjoy making beaded jewelry and one-of-a-kind gift tags. Our parties usually involve board games. We both love movies.
If you think we may be a fit, please reply and tell me why. (No spam, please.)
If you have a room to rent, then tell me about it -- the room and the location -- and the current tenants.
If you are also looking for your next home, then please tell me about yourself/selves, and your budget and location preferences and limitations. Would you pay more for the master suite? Is a small room fine? How do you feel about pets and kids, and do you have any?
Thanks,
Kaaren.

Might as well be good!
