1290 1069ft2

About the apartment: I'm looking to sign a 12 month lease for a two bedroom/two bathroom apartment in NoMa at the end of August/early September. Your portion of the rent should be about $1290 + 1/2 utilities/internet (probably another ~$100 per person). You will have your own bathroom and bedroom. The rooms are identical in size, so rent is being split evenly.

I do not yet have furnishings for the common areas, so if you have furniture/kitchenware, we have space for it! (If you don't have furnishings for the common area, that's okay too -- I'm more interested in finding the right roommate than in the roommate's stuff.) I'm planning to fill in whatever ends up being needed. The pictures are from the current occupants.

The apartment is 1,069 square feet, located on the penthouse floor of a luxury building just steps from the NoMa-Gallaudet metro stop on the red line. Unfortunately, it has a gorgeous view of another building, but hey, it's a great price! Washer/dryer in unit, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, gym that doesn't seem too busy even during peak hours, pool, garden, printing center, free coffee, 24-hour concierge, and numerous other amenities and features. There's even a Harris Teeter accessible without going outside--perfect for grocery shopping during those cold winter months! If you have a vehicle, underground parking is available at an extra cost. For a full list of features, see www.flats130.com.

The apartment should be available in early September. The current tenants (who are leaving) may have a bit of flexibility in when they clear out, so if you have a hard deadline, we can try to coordinate with them.

About me: I'm a 31-year-old professional male. I have no pets and no vehicle. I don't smoke, drink, or use drugs, though I don't mind if others drink in moderation. I like to have a friend or two over for a meal or to hang out sometimes, but I always keep things low key. I enjoy a relatively quiet living environment. I pick up after myself and like to keep common areas clean -- not OCD clean, just tidy. I don't mind overnight guests as long as they're respectful and not around so often as to become a third roommate. I try to be courteous and respectful of others and their belongings. Basically, I'm a generally boring, young-ish professional.

About you: Mid 20s-mid 30s (give or take). Stable and sufficient income to always pay bills on time and in full. Able to pass a background and credit check (both will be required by the leasing office). No smoking or drugs. Respectful of others and their belongings. Likes to keep common areas clean. Low key, doesn't bring the party home. (I don't mind if you have people over for dinner, games, hanging out, etc., just as long as things don't get crazy.) Male or female, straight or gay, grad school/law school/med school student or professional.

If you somehow managed to make it through all this and are interested, please send an email with the subject "Roommate in NoMa" (to help filter spam). Please also include some details about yourself, including (but not necessarily limited to) your first name, age, how you spend your typical week, and why you think we might make good roommates. Also, feel free to ask any questions about me or the apartment. I'll be happy to answer what I can. If this ad is still up, feel free to respond, even if it's a few days old.!
