I'm traveling Aug. 7 to Sept. 10 and looking to temporarily rent out my condo. In exchange for a huge discount on this fantastic short-term furnished place to stay, you'll take care of my two friendly cats while you're here.
My luxurious 800+ square foot, one-bedroom unit is in a beautiful building in the Mount Vernon Square neighborhood near the Washington Convention Center. A Metro station (Green/Yellow lines), downtown, Logan Circle, and Chinatown are all a short walk nearby.
My place is fully furnished with everything you'd need for a short-term stay. The condo features a spacious kitchen equipped with plates, glasses, utensils, pots, pans, etc.; dining table with chairs; open living area with sofa, chairs, big-screen HDTV, digital cable, stereo speakers, and CD/DVD player; bedroom with queen-size bed, full-size desk, wired and wireless high-speed Internet access, and color laser printer; large bathroom; and a washer/dryer. I will provide a clean set of bed sheets and towels if you need them.
My cats are adorable, amusing, and friendly. I've had several prior short-term housesitters here before, so they are accustomed to being around new people. Their care simply involves giving food and water twice a day as well as scooping the litter box once a day. I will leave specific instructions with you. These tasks require less than 10 minutes per day, and the cats will provide you with good company and many smiles.
In exchange for you taking care of the cats, I will discount the rental more than two-thirds off market rate to $50 per night. The total price for 34 nights is $1,700. This price includes all utilities (electricity, cable TV, and high-speed Internet). For comparison, a one-bedroom rental at the nearby Eldon Luxury Suites would cost $6,566 from Aug. 7 to Sept. 10, which is $193 per night. Visit www.eldonsuites.com to compare prices.
This short-term rental is perfect for someone moving to D.C. who needs a temporary place before you can move into your own home, a local resident who is moving and in need of a place to stay before your next apartment is ready, or a long-term corporate visitor to Washington who doesn't want to pay for an expensive hotel room but still wants to stay comfortably in the heart of the city.
Ready to take this super deal? Drop me an e-mail to get the process started. I'll respond by sending you photos, an information sheet, and a rental application. If you're in the D.C. area, I'm happy to set up a time to show you the condominium.
If you decide this is the place for you, a $100 deposit is due with your application to hold the unit. The $100 deposit will be applied toward the rent if your application is accepted or promptly refunded in full if the application is denied. Half the rent balance plus a $400 refundable security deposit must be received the same day the lease contract is signed. The final rent balance will be due when you pick up keys the day before your occupancy begins.
Garage parking is not provided with this rental. If you have a car, however, I can rent you a Zone 2 visitor permit to park on the street for $136 ($4 per day).
