1989 YJ Wrangler Islander 4.2L (fuel injected), Make Offer
6500 USD
Stop looking, you found your new Jeep.
Up for sale is my pride and joy, my 1989 Jeep Wrangler YJ Islander, "Malibu Stacy". I'm asking $6500 OBO. She's got the AMC258 I 4.2L, upgraded with a Howell TBI Fuel Injection kit (no more finicky carburetors and failing smog tests!) and 128,300 miles on the original motor with a 5-speed transmission. I've had the truck for over 3 years now, and we've shared plenty of tears, sweat and blood (serisouly though, tons of wrenching). There are almost too many upgrades and repairs to restore, but I'll do my best to list the most recent and significant.
Replaced rear axle and regeared with Dana 4.10's
rebuilt transfer box and replaced vacuum lines for 4x4
Howell Throttle Body Fuel Injection System -- $1300 (this is by far the most valuable and significan repair that can be done w this series of CJ/YJ's, incredibly better than any carb setup. I already passed the state inspection, so all you have to do is the standard 2-year smog tests.)
Alternator; water pump; radiator; every goddamned drive and accessory belt; every hose under the hood; new wires, cap & plugs; etc)
Replaced windshield frame -- $700+ (brand new hardware, professional paint, new glass)
Tires are 33x9.5's, and the lift is around 4" total if i recall (suspension and leaf springs), about 15k miles on tires, plenty of tread left
everything in brake system rebuilt in last 12-18 months
clutch was rebuilt by previous owner at about 110,000 miles
Custom headers, new cat. converter
factory hardtop and full doors
Bluetooth stereo receiver, waterproof dash speakers and custom waterproof 6x9" speakers pods mounted on roll cage.
Look at that sexy factory paint and decal job too -- the ladies love it! Basically, this beautiful beast is ready for you to treat her like the dirty little Jeep she is. I'm moving across country for a job, and while I wish I could bring her with me, this pretty lady's place is here in the grand ol' Rocky's. I'm asking $6500 OBO. I know what the truck is worth, so please do not waste either of our time with a lowball offer. Not very interested in trades, but I could be interested in say a 600cc sport bike , or maybe a sweet ass cafe race with ~$5k cash -- no projects though, I'm done wrenching for a while :]
Feel free to email through CL links, or text/call at : three 0 three, six 6 nine, seven 00 seven, my name is Josh. The truck is currently in Parker, but can be brought as for north as downtown for a serious inquiry and showing. Please call for any serious or detailed questions!
