2 Year Old Hetero Beige Female Chinchilla

QR Code Link to This Post We have a hetero beige female chinchilla that is looking for her new home. Her name is MJ. MJ initially came to the rescue when her owners were moving and were unable to take her. They were super sad to see her go, and even called later to give us an updated birthdate on her (most people we never from again). MJ was actually adopted out by a wonderful person, as a companion for her existing chinchilla. Unfortunately, her chinchilla decided that she did not want company (and the feeling seemed to be mutual), which was too bad, as the owner loved MJ to death. However, even having MJ in the home was upsetting the original chinchilla, so she came back to us, to find her another home. It's time for her to go home, for good. Is that home with you?

MJ is a hetero beige female, which means she is a beigeish color over her back and her body, with a white belly. Her updated birthday is November 22, 2015, which means she has just turned 2 years old.

Her temporary owner described her better than I ever could, so in her words:

"She is SUCH a snuggly chinchilla! She's always looking for a pet, and will run to the front of the cage to greet you. Chin scratches are her favorite. While she loves to be pet, she also enjoys running and jumping around during playtime. She's a great eater, and has eaten every treat I've offered her, which includes every treat in the goodie bag and in the herb sampler, apple branches, and clover. She is a big chewer, and has enjoyed chewing on wood toys, loofahs, seagrass twists, and willow branch chews. But her favorite thing to chew on by far is lava ledges! I'm sure she would love any toy with lava stones. I haven't tried her with a ball water bottle, so I'm not sure if her previous owner's note is true about her only drinking from the tube bottles. I wouldn't bother trying a litter box with her, as she will pee all over the cage. She LOVES the dust bath and her hammock. Obviously, she did not get along with my other chin, so I would be wary of caging her with another. She is such a fluffy sweetheart, I hope she finds a good home so soon."

MJ's original owner had told us that she would only drink from a Ryerson-type water bottle, so we are including one with her, which is why her adoption fee is sort of an oddball amount (to add in the water bottle).

The pictures that we're using on this listing are pics provided by the temporary adopter (with her permission).

This chinchilla would make a good "first chinchilla" for someone who's never had chinchillas before.

This chinchilla will come with some food to start you out (2 pounds of Mazuri pellets), a goodie bags of chews/treats, and a printed out version of our care packet. He will also come with a lifetime of help and support, should you ever need it. If more supplies are needed, we also sell a variety of chinchilla supplies, from cages to hidey houses to hammocks and everything in between.

Regardless of past chinchilla experience, all potential homes will be asked to read our chinchilla care packet, fill out our adoption application/chinchilla questionnaire, and provide proof of cage. If you are unwilling to do these things, please do not waste our time or yours. No chinchilla will go to a new home without an adoption application being filled out - no exceptions.

This chinchilla is located in Hammond, Indiana (zip code 46324).

The adoption fee for MJ is $106
