Time for us to move on. We love our home and think you would too. This is an approximately 1200 square foot home. The main house has two bedrooms and two bathrooms. There is a separate studio apartment about 500 square feet with a bathroom and kitchen as well. This apartment is attached to a garage and workshop. The studio is rented out to fishermen and hunters when we don't have family visiting. There is a small deck out the front sliding glass doors of the apartment as well as a small pond.
There are two other out-buildings on this half acre lot. There is a 250 square foot craft studio where my wife spends hours each week. That building also has a pantry and encloses the well head. The second out-building is a two-car carport with an attached woodshed.
The inside of our house has many beautiful features. The open floor plan is covered in yellow pine flooring in the main living area. The master and guest bedroom are carpeted, and the two bathrooms are tiled. The master bath has a infrared heat sauna for two people and the master bedroom has a walk-in closet. There is a built in fireplace and a built in cabinet in the living area. We use the fireplace as primary heat in the winter months, but have a nearly-unused electric furnace for back-up.
This is a fully fenced landscaped property with a cherry tree, peach tree, a garden area, raspberry and black berry bushes as well as two walnut trees. We are on our own well, which has some of the best water you will ever taste, and a relatively new septic system. The main house has an 800 square foot deck on two sides. The roof was recently replaced due to hail damage.
Moreover, we live in the middle of nature. I feed wild turkeys every morning during the colder months, fish for trout or steelhead within two hundred feet of our front door, and hunt elk or deer within a 10 minute drive.
Troy, Oregon, of which you can find a few pictures on the internet, is a very small, unincorporated town in northeast Oregon. It is known for its outdoor activities such as rafting on the Grande Ronde River in summer. It is a well-known steelhead fishing destination for many. There are few services here; it lacks a gas station or a post office. Ideally you will be retired or a "man of means" to live here. There is very little employment because of the small population.
We will be leaving some of the furnishings and none of the art work. If you have an interest at $285,000, please contact us using the contact information provided (phone only) and we will send any picture you desire. If you have an abiding interest, come see this beautiful area and enjoy some camping while here. We are 50 miles from Lewiston, Idaho and 50 miles from Enterprise, Oregon.
