I made one of these for a Festivus gift, and liked it enough that I made 2 more to sell. One is heading out to a purchaser in Norway, and the other is still available. I can also make more... made to order, and probably still have them done by the Holiday.
I welded 20 equilateral triangles (5″ sides/1/8″ thick) into an icosahedron. This is not an easy task as the angles have to be very precise. All of the welds are then sanded smooth, and the edges rounded over. Then I etch in the numbers (using an electro-etching process) and put a matte clear coat on the finished die.
My D20's are about 7.5″ high, and they weigh, coincidentally, about 7.5 lbs. Act quickly if you want one in time for gift.
