The long story:

Looking for 2 roommates to share a 3-bedroom house with 2.5 baths in Marlboro NJ. Near the crossroads of County Road 520 (aka Newman Springs Rd) and State Route 79 (aka Main St). Search it on mapquest or google maps as: "County Road 520 and State Route 79, 07746". Marlboro borders such towns as Holmdel, Colts Neck, Freehold, Manalapan, Matawan, Aberdeen, Old Bridge. It is just a 0.3 mile walk to the closest bus stop for line #135 on Route 79. The Henry Hudson walking/biking trail is 0.2 miles away and leads to affluent Colt Neck 1.3 miles east. Most major stores are available on local county roads or state highways (18,33,34,35,36,79,US-9) which are in a 0-10 mile radius such as: Best Buy, Staples, Lowes, Home Depot, Target, Kmart, Sears, various supermarkets including Whole Foods and Trader Joes.

We all have equal usage of the house. Consider it like 3 college friends renting a 3-bedroom apartment together and splitting the costs. We all have equal space in the kitchen cabinets and refrigerator. This is not a hotel where all your needs are catered to. We all need to share in keeping the place clean and taking out the trash and such like that; I'm not a janitor or a maid. The only difference is that I'm the actual owner on paper and have to pay to fix any problems with the house such a broken furnace or cracked bathroom tiles. This will be a month-to-month rental at the beginning to make sure we all get along, but can later be a 6-month or 12-month lease if that makes you feel more secure. The house was built in 1969 and is 1887 sqft on a large 19,000 sqft lot. Only 1 person is allowed per bedroom; we do not want a crowded flop house.

I just bought this house in December of 2014 and am living there also. I don't need roommates to afford the place; I am choosing to have roommates because I like living with others. For reference, I'm age 39 and I work in southern Holmdel, where I've been steadily employed for over 6 years at the same company. I feel that I'm easy to get along with. I like computers, scifi/horror books and movies, and cooking.

All 3 bedrooms have brand new Mohawk SmartStrand stain-resistant carpeting installed. The bedrooms are currently unfurnished. With lots of pieces left behind by the prior owner (bed, desks, armoires, bookshelves, etc), the rooms can be partially furnished if desired.

The rooms will be available sometime between October 1st and November 1st depending on when my current tenants vacate. A fourth room off the kitchen has a window and closet and could be a temporary bedroom if someone needs to move ASAP while waiting for the other two bedrooms to become vacant.

All 3 bedrooms are on the second floor along with 2 full baths. Two roommates will be sharing a bathroom. Brand-new HD Cable Boxes are in each of the 3 bedrooms and also in the living room. The room prices do include the utilities of electric, water, sewer, gas, internet, and Cablevision Optimum HD Preferred-Package TV with Multi-room DVR service. Nothing here is set in stone and I'm open to suggestions.

I am looking for steadily employed individuals who can afford such rents. So you really shouldn't be living paycheck-to-paycheck with $100 left to your name every month where one financial problem such as a car repair is enough to send you into late rent payments.

I welcome advice on how to decorate the rooms (both bedrooms and common rooms). The first floor rooms listed below all have wood or tile floors. The house has a huge living room where I have 5.1 surround sound speakers (and possibly 7.1 later) for a nice theater quality movie/TV experience. There is a large dining room, small family room, half-bath powder room, eat-in kitchen with dishwasher and double-oven, laundry room with washer/dryer, 2-car garage, and an attic for storage above the garage. Sadly, the prior owners converted one side of the 2-car garage into an office (19'0 x 9'9) so only 1-car can fit in the garage at the moment. I'm strongly considering converting that office back to a garage and then we could discuss one of the 2 roommates parking there if desired. There is a long double-wide drive-way that can easily fit two cars side-by-side and is also ample parking on the street in front of the house. Unfortunately, there is no basement.

Please write me a detailed response on why you are moving, where you work, when you are looking to move, a bit about your personality/habits, lifestyle (quiet stay at home type or party animal) and anything else you feel is useful. I absolutely will reply to *all* serious inquiries, even with a courtesy reply for those who don't seem compatible (meaning I don't think it will work out or we probably wouldn't get along).
