We are looking for a roommate to fill a room in our 4 bedroom row house in Shaw. The room is $975 with a $75 fee for utilities. The room is available the 1st of January, but it is possible to move in earlier if you like.

We're hoping to talk with people starting Sunday and the rest of next week, so shoot us times you're available and tell us a little about yourself (age, job, favorite off the beaten path place to go in DC, your spirit animal and other things that give us a sense about you).

The House:
The house is a roomy Shaw row house with a recently updated kitchen. There is hardwood throughout the first floor, furniture in the main areas and plenty of kitchenware. The washer and dryer are on the main floor as well. While it's winter, there is a patio in the back waiting for the spring/summer. There is street parking throughout the neighborhood and there's always a space close by when you need one.

The Room:
The room is on the main floor but off the main area so noise is not an issue. It is decently large and can comfortably fit a queen sized bed, desk, dresser and bookshelf (the pictures don't quite do it justice). There is also a full closet in the room. There is a bathroom in the hall and you'd be the only roommate using it. The other three bedrooms are upstairs. Additionally, the current roommate is also selling the furniture currently in the room, if you are interested.

The Roommates:
Currently, there are two gals and two guys living here doing typical DC things: Defense policy, Ag policy, economics and international development. Unfortunately our international developer is moving back to Spain, so we are looking for someone to fill his room. We do have a preference for keeping the genders balanced, but we are also interested in the best fit regardless of gender.

We're all late 20s/ early 30s and like going out in Shaw, U street, 14th, H street, and the Dupont area. We like exploring the city and surrounding areas, trying the new restaurants, long walks on the beach, etc. The biggest things we're looking for in a roommate are to be LGBTQ friendly, responsible and respectful of everyone else in the house. You know, pretty basic stuff. We are interested in keeping the general areas clean and livable, particularly the kitchen.

We are definitely not attached at the hip, but we often find ourselves chatting at the end of the day or week and we'd like to keep that dynamic. It's a pretty relaxed house with friends coming over throughout the week and guests staying the weekend every now and then.

Lately, we tried to watch Quantico for hate-watching bonding. This has been a little rougher than expected as the show is way worse than we could have imagined. Any ideas for a new house show would be greatly appreciated. We promise we actually like good TV shows as well.

The area:
The house is about 5 blocks (8 or 9 minute walk) from the Shaw metro and a couple blocks from a huge number of bus lines that will take you all over the city. The G2 comes right outside the house and takes you downtown in about 20 minutes. There are also some great bike lanes that are a straight shot over to 14th street and U street. It winds up being a 5 or 6 minute ride.

There are plenty of restaurants and bars popping up constantly nearby and a Giant 5 blocks away. Most importantly, it's 4 blocks from Dacha Beer Garden (when the weather is a bit nicer). All in all, it's a great area.
