A shy , energetic pittie is looking for a play date partner (Sheepshead Bay)

I am posting this in hopes of finding a play date for my adopted 3 year old pittie.
We adopted Alma 2 years ago from NYC animal control . Whoever had her before us neglected and most likely abused her . She cowered if anyone in the room raised their voice , wasn't housebroken ,was scared to cross the street or ride in the elevators . All of that is in the past now and our little piglet (that's what the volunteers at the shelter called her) is doing great. She is an affectionate ,loving pup always ready to play or give out kisses ..To summarize it ,Alma is the absolute best !!! The only other issue we are still working on is socialization..She was never properly socialized so the result is that she is shy around other dogs .
At the moment We are looking for a walk buddy to may be start with leashed walks.Eventually ,if pups get along of course,move on to play dates at yours or our backyard ..May be drive out to the nearest dog run.
