Computer professional (20+ years) who just wants to offer services in his "off" time. Computers and technology are my passion, so I would like to continue this on the side.
I am a Senior IT and Systems Engineer during the day, so providing computer help to people in my spare time is not where I make my income - so my fees are reasonable; I have no intentions on charging a lot for helping people out. Obviously the more complex the issue, the more it will have to be - but even then it will be a lot less than box stores like GeekSquad (insulting name!)
I can provide in-home, phone, email, or remote control service. I can take on standard computer support, websites, networking, social media...whatever. I used to be an instructor at a Computer Training facility, so don't worry about getting someone impatient who doesn't want to teach you.
I can go from simple tutoring with Facebook, to setting up secure Cisco networks. We all had to start somewhere and I have no problems helping anyone out.
These are a few of the qualities I can provide:
1 - 20+ years knowledge (with multiple degrees and industry certifications)
2 - I'm cheap
3 - No need to call support and get someone in a different country that you can't understand
4 - If I can't fix it, do it, or answer it - I won't string you along. I'll just flat out tell you (yes, I admit I don't know everything).
