We will provide phone equipment. You need to have internet access and a relatively modern computer. You can live anywhere, but need to be very good with computers, very good with Google maps, and can be very assertive with answering the phones and dispatching drivers through odd hours. We will provide training in house in Auburn, WA or at the home of one of our existing night dispatchers in Cove, Oregon. However, once trained you will work from your house.
There may be some flexibility and variability with the exact hours and evenings depending on business cycles and other staff needs.
We are a medium sized independent repair facility and towing company that operates 24/7/365 and employs approximately 20 people. This job supports our after hours towing, impound, emergency response, and breakdown services, and as a result there are pressure points and challenges that require a person able to make multiple correct decisions under pressure. One call may be an upset vehicle owner that had their vehicle impounded by the police, and the very next call may be person stranded that is very appreciative of your help.
Duties:
◾Take incoming calls for towing service, police impounds, and accidents.
◾Coordinate and dispatch multiple drivers.
◾Take incoming calls for impound release questions that relate specifically to the laws relating to towing and impoundment.
◾Enter calls into computer system and electronically manage the dispatch process.
Requirements:
◾Previous phone answering experience, and preferably call center or emergency dispatch experience.
◾Very good keyboarding speed.
◾Excellent computer skills.
◾Very organized and able to multi task under pressure.
◾Strong desire to help people and solve challenging problems.
◾Internet access and your own computer.
Compensation:
◾$90 per evening, $144 per day, or $378 per weekend.
