QR Code Link to This Post We are selling a very old William L Gilbert antique clock -- beautiful flame mahogany (or walnut) wood case - with a reverse painting of the capitol footsteps in Washington DC. The clock is not working
We're guessing 1870s or so -- partially based on some handwritten notations that dated a repair in the 1880s
Included with the case are 2 weights, the pendulum and 2 keys to wind the clock
The reverse painting is very pretty -- very detailed -- even if the clock is not working, it is in itself a nice work of art to display
26" tall x 15" wide x 5" deep.
Condition-wise not bad for 150 year old clock -- a very small section of the painting is gone (see pic) and the strip of veneer at the bottom is missing (the wood underneath is actually very close in color to the missing veneer)
Pickup at our home just north of West Chester, right near the Boot Rd exit of Rt 202.
