QR Code Link to This Post ANTIQUE SOFA, If you know what style this sofa is please let me know. The closest I can come is American Empire around 1880(?). It measures; 79wX32dX33.5h. It is a wood veneer, and has four tiny wheels that works well & is very sturdy and an incredible piece to see. An Argentine coin fell out of it when it was re-covered and the original horse hair fabric is under the new fabric. No sagging, no funky smells, super sturdy and no problems of any kind. I fell in love with it the minute I saw it.

Also, I find a number of sellers get the Empire dates wrong and advertise furniture as late 19th century, secondly and a little more complicated, at the time of, and after, the American Centennial in 1876, there was a renewed interest in early American furniture styles, so occasionally one sees Empire revival furniture from the late 19th century into the 1920's( even up to the present). The late 19th Empire furniture is sometimes confusing but there are usually subtle variations which indicate it's age.
Yours, is a full blown, vigorous early 19th century piece of distinguished design.

This can be easily dis-assembled into the 2 sides/arms, the back and the seat. This also makes it super easy to re-upholster or use your own fabrics to match your home.
