Artist intern/assistant needed, part time summer position
I am a local Artist in Richmond and I maintain rented studio space in a gallery. I am looking for an intern/assistant to perform a variety of duties for the summer. Every 4th Friday is our gallery reception, the intern will work the event from 6-11 pm, turning on lights, watering plants, hanging new work, light cleaning, welcoming people to the studio, customer service, making sales. Intern will also manage social media, website, mail, change displays, handle internet sales and other duties.
Think you can do this? The ideal candidate: Follows guidelines and adheres to business practices; is technology-oriented; has experience in social media, has experience in providing excellent customer service; is able to work independently and manage studio alone, is detail oriented, maintains professional appearance and demeanor; occasional lifting required (up to 50 pounds); must be organized, detailed oriented, self-motivated, and reliable; must be 18 or older; must have strong verbal and writing skills; must provide transportation; must provide cell phone and laptop/computer; must be able to attend all 4th Friday events from May to September; fine arts knowledge preferred; college student preferred; compensation is based on performance.
