Western Avenue is getting ready to roll its leases - and we have TWO DOZEN artists studios available for rent. This is the only time of the year we have such a selection as they usually all rent out before the holiday season. Be part of a supportive artists community that hosts one of the best, year round, Open Studios events in the Greater Boston area in one of the most supportive cities for artists.

Available studios range from 230 - 570 square feet - this is subject to change weekly. WA Studios rent for approximately one half to one third of comparable studio space in Boston. Studio rents (which are set each July) are $9.15/sf/yr for the 2015 - 2016 year plus electric and a nominal fee for wifi access. Sharing of studios is permitted with a minimum of 100 square feet per person.

In general, ceilings are 14' and walls 8' high, every studio has at least one window. There are common sinkrooms on each floor. Building access is 24/7. Access to loading docks and a freight elevator is also available.

The Studios are open to the public on the first Saturday of every month from noon to 5pm. The Loading Dock Gallery is open Wednesdays through Saturdays from noon to 5pm and Sundays from noon to 4pm. Some studios are open most days during the week.

Western Avenue is also home to 50 live/work lofts. Combined, the Studios and Lofts are home to over 330 artists - making it the largest artist community of its kind on the East Coast. Western Avenue has an active artist association, a co-op gallery, a black box event space, and a diverse, supportive community.
