ATLANTA GUITAR ACADEMY

Atlanta Guitar Academy was founded by former Atlanta Institute of Music Head of the Guitar Department, David Poole.

He studied under such guitar greats as Greg Howe, Paul Gilbert, Shawn Lane, Vinny Moore, and Jimmy Herring. He also studied in master classes with Robin Ford, Jason Becker, Andy Timmons, Scott Henderson, Steve Morse, and many more great players. He has played with Whitney Houston and taught the guitar player from Matchbox 20.

The Atlanta Guitar Academy will take you though a course that is every bit as good as the best guitar programs in the nation, but at a fraction of the price! The curriculum was written by David Poole, who also authored the curriculum for the scales department at AIM. David was AIM's scales instructor for a decade. He also taught classes at AIM such as classical(levels 1, 2, 3, and 4), Scales(1,2, 3, and 4), Rock 3, Reading(1, 2, 3, and 4), Notation, Rock Performance, Jazz Performance.

This course is a two year program broken up into four levels, consisting of 4 six month sessions. You can take a look at the syllabus to see the classes that are in the program. At the end of Level four, the student will receive a certificate that is highly valued saying that they completed one of the most challenging music development programs in the state.

For those who are not ready to get the most out of this program, because of age or inexperience, there is a introduction course that leads up to level one of the program. Or if you are more interested in private lessons, we can accommodate you too.
