...a smart, professional and well-rehearsed cover band (with originals to come shortly) just getting our act off the ground and hoping to complete our band roster with the addition of a bass player.
The general concept of the act revolves around the performance of highly unlikely "deep album track" cover tunes culled from a variety of vaguely rock-ish genres and then given a healthy twist. We're currently working with an hours' worth of material, which we're adding to quickly. Fame and riches commensurate with the ability to complete our lineup, get some decent gigs, and knock people on their asses.
The ideal candidate should possess the following:
1.) A big brain and a bigger sense of humor.
2.) Good player with solid "rock-n-roll sensibilities" to his/her style: popping, slapping, basses with too many strings frowned upon.
3.) Above talents should be demonstrable in advance of a live audition by way of YouTube video, emailed MP3, SoundCloud/BandCamp link, or similar.
4.) High comfort level with frequent studio/recording scenarios and the patience they require.
5.) High comfort level with using in-ear monitors and click tracks in a live performance scenario.
6.) Fluency on other instruments (guitar and keys particularly) not required but a huge bonus.
7.) Once-a-week rehearsals, locally.
8.) Zero biases based on age, race, sexual orientation, or other. But you must have style, dammit: if you're butt-ugly...work it!
