"Christmas is a 7yr old Alaskan Husky/Whippet mix with a sweet and gentle disposition who is learning to love the life of an indoor dog. She is near fully potty-trained and is now more comfortable indoors. She is an incredible sled dog and loves to pull in harness. She will do best in a home that bike-jors, ski-jors or does recreational mushing. Don't let her age fool you, she has plenty of energy and will need some form of exercise daily. Despite her energy level, she calms down nicely in the home. She lacks confidence when not racing and is uncertain but curious about people and her surroundings. However, she has shown great capacity for change and has become more outgoing and confident in just a few weeks of fostering. With continued work over time, I believe she can become a confident dog in and out of the harness. She has never shown any fear aggression. She is less intimidated with children (over 4) and does quite well with them as long as they understand how to be around a dog. She is excellent with other dogs. She has not been exposed to cats." - AARF.
