Please boycott Breakers, (there are 2 other restaurant's in this strip mall that pay their workers) & tell them why. This place is family owned by thieving sleaze bags, Wanda, Barbra & or S____________ & maybe Jim, they seamed nice at 1st just like the best con-artists! Call & ask for Wanda make stealing painful for them!

I was in this restaurant working on my laptop waiting for Jim to show up & pay me when a waitress told me to leave if I wasn't going to order anything. I never was offered the 50% discount some of their employees get.

This is what happened. They said they might need a fry cook, but the only opening was for a dishwasher. I needed payroll wages in December of 2014 so I filled out an EMPLOYMENT APPLICATION they noticed my construction skills & told me I could start that night at 9pm to help install ceiling tiles, & get up to health code? When I showed up one of the women told me I was not hired, she was wrong, Jim kept me working till 3am without telling me I needed to order food before the 10am kitchen closing. A dish washer was held over to help Jim the fat 280lb guy & I. We had to stand on wet greasy slippery ladder rungs while working with our hands over our heads. One of the ladders was in a SS sink so not stable! We were told to violate OSHA safety policy's. There were sheets of stainless steel sheet metal leaned up against the sink where one could easily slip off the greasy ladder & end up disemboweled on the greasy floor. I moved the SS sheets while Jim was oblivious to this hazard, he was creating another. He started cutting the angle iron with a new grinder disk he bought instead of a cutoff disk so every cut took 3 times longer. Oh yeah, he did not even pass out the safety glasses he had! The ground metal sprayed all over a meat slicer on a counter.

The next day when I showed up for work the 2 women tried to pay me $97 cash which would have been fine if it were wages but they were trying to pay me as a independent contractor, when I had only agreed to work for wages as an employee!

After talking to Hawaii Wage & Hour I was told I could have accepted cash. So I went back the next day & the same woman that offered me the cash refused to pay me. I was not told to bring tools & worked under the direct supervision of Jim who has never returned my calls. *****I was in this restaurant working on my laptop waiting for Jim to show up & pay me when a waitress told me to leave if I wasn't going to order anything I never was offered the 50% discount some of their employees get.

PS: I donate a portion of my wages to non-profits, its about being lied to & cheated by the relatively rich!
