Carbone by Hall

Casserole w/ Duck Lid

Of French origin, this type of casserole was originally intended for cooking and serving dishes made from local game and fowl. Its elaborate handle identified the meat within; in this case, duck. Today, the oval baking dish performs well for all sorts of casseroles as well as baked vegetables and side dishes. You can also use it for a pâté or terrine.

Here's a find! This is a very attractive oval casserole from Hall - Carbone, with a figural duck lid. The French Blue casserole is white inside. It's about 9-1/2" long, not including the handles, and 7" across. It's 4-3/4" high at the rim and holds about 2 quarts when filled to the lid "shelf". There are handles at the long ends for safe lifting. The white ceramic lid is in the shape of a bright eyed duck with a shiny yellow beak. The unglazed underside is marked "Carbone" in black; the Hall name is impressed.

Feel Free to make me an offer. I am asking $25 as the site is listed at that price on my online retail site, however for local buyers, willing to negotiate further.

Thank You,

Justin
