CASTING CALL (351 North Avenue)

Turn It Up

The Story
An introverted country boy struggles to live up to the expectations of his controlling father and a well meaning counselor, but when he befriends a down-and-out musician, he must search within himself to find the key to his own future.

The Gig
We are currently mounting a Kickstarter campaign to fund our feature film. As part of our campaign, we are producing a trailer and seek eager local talent to help us tell our story.

We are casting FOUR Parts:

Glen: our protagonist. Introverted, but with a mind that is always buzzing with intent. Glen becomes seduced by the blues and must hide his musical endeavors from his father. Actor must be a caucasian male between 16-22 years old, preferably with an active interest in music.

Dwayne: our antagonist, Glen's overbearing father. Gruff and to-the-point, with a penchant for Milwaukee's Best, Dwayne doesn't need to say a word to be intimidating. Actor should be a caucasian male between late 30s to mid 50s.

Grace: our love interest. Pretty, outgoing, but na??ve about her own privilige and ignorant of the hard knock upbringing that Glen knows too well. Actress for Grace should be thin female between 17-24.

Baz: our mentor. Baz is a rough and tumble rock n' roller; a relic from a different age, equal parts grizzled and charming. Actor must be an active guitar player with decent chops between mid 40s to mid 60s.

For all parts, some acting experience is preferred, but not required. We are willing to work with anyone who is eager, enthused and open to taking direction.

Open auditions will be held on Wednesday, February 25 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Burlington College, 451 North Avenue.
