Synopsis: Two Hispanic cousins, both with painful and difficult family situations, slowly realize that they can put an end to the cycle of abuse that they were born into.
Looking for:
Manuel (18): An overweight Hispanic male, Manuel is sensitive, awkward and fiercely loyal. Because he is not traditionally masculine, he struggles to see his own strengths. He worries that he'll never fit in with his family, or the culture that surrounds him.
Santiago (42): Manuel's father. Santiago is a stern man who works tirelessly to support his family. He is quick to anger and become violent when he feels he is not shown the respect he deserves, especially when he has been drinking.
Juan (19): Manuel's cousin. Juan is tall and lean, the physical opposite of his cousin. After his father ran out on him and his mother years ago, Juan has had to work to make ends meet. He would do anything for his family, but is growing more frustrated and resentful as time goes on.
Minerva (40): Juan's mother. Minerva is devoutly Catholic; she is always willing to put the needs of others before her own, which has left her exhausted and poor. She believes there is hope for everyone.
Emiliano (40): Juan's father and Santiago's brother. Emiliano is good looking and charming. He glides through life without a care in the world, visiting his family only occasionally, and always to ask for.
