Chico and Friends Saving Dogs, Inc is a small dog rescue who works with many animal shelters in the South, mostly North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida. These states have kill shelters with as much as a 99% kill rate. When shelters contact and ask if Chico and Friends can take other type animals such as rabbits, a few guinea pigs, a ferrets how can they can not say no. These animals are hard to rehome unless they are babies. Everyone wants babies, but all babies grow up and get larger, or becomes a neusence to their owners. Knowing these animals will be abused, neglected or dropped off at a shelter on the way to animal imminent death.
All of the animals are cared for with premium food, water, shelter and medical care. I have seen kittens in clean kennels with food, water, toys and cat boxes. Where would that person like her to keep the kittens?
They do not get litters and litters of puppies. They do get young dogs, old dogs, and handicap dogs. Some of the handicapped dogs or old dogs that can not be rehomed join their sanctuary so that they can enjoy what time they have on this earth.
