My name is Ankit Somani. I recently graduated from the School of Visual Arts in New York City where I studied sound & music production. While attending SVA I was extremely fortunate to meet
Chris Newman and Paul Goodrich, who are respectively Academy & Grammy award winning sound mixers and music engineers. I had the privilege of being trained in their field at an elite level; this has allowed me to gain experience as an aspiring music producer. Through their teachings, I was awarded the Gotham Honorary Sound Award at the 2013 Dusty Film Festival. Over the years I was also able to become proficient in Final Cut Studio and Logic Pro, which have allowed me to produce sound at high quality.
As well as producing, I cultivated knowledge through my township's music program. I performed as a trumpeter from 4th-12th grade, as well becoming a percussionist in high school. I was involved with jazz and symphonic bands, along with brass and percussion ensembles. I'm also currently on my 5th year as a percussion instructor for my high school's marching band, composing mainly for the drumline.

I consider myself a perfectionist who is ambitious to gain as much technical and creative knowledge that will result in a great product. My determination has allowed me to work with many different filmmakers & musicians; this was a vital growing point in my education.
