Why would you hire an engineer? To take your music from the bedroom to the masses. - Most Unsigned/Indie/Hobbyist Artists
You may make music with dreams of a new lifestyle, or maybe you work your craft to explore creativity and an outlet. The reasons vary and so do the options on Craigslist. Each engineer, each studio offering different rates, unique gear, knowledge, and experiences. Ultimately, like the title says, I engineer for the music and not the money with the understanding that value in a product or service can be related to it's cost. That said, if you want to blindly reach out to someone who pushes a price, go for it. If you want something more than that...read on:
I'm located in Gwinnett County, which can be harder to reach without a vehicle. For those without suitable means or time to travel I offer:
• Mobile recording/engineering services including: Recording, Mixing, Mastering, Production all at a mutual site of your choosing.
• Remote engineering services including: Vocal Editing, Mixing, Mastering, Production with file transfer via DropBox or a file transfer service of your choosing with a 3 business day turnaround including daily virtual pulse checks through FaceTime/Skype/etc. This is your project and you should be involved every step of the way.
If you can travel, I have a home-based studio with the following benefits:
• Remote location, away from the busy grind of the city and distractions that are common place in downtown locales and big studios
• Interruption Free, one client/group per session, no waiting, no worries
• Peaceful setting
• Pool Table/Lounge so you can enjoy your stay and step away from creation to refresh
• Kitchen/Delivery services
• No shoe policy/House slippers provided upon request (I keep a clean home)
• Tea/honey/throat treatment for vocalists
• Drinks (upon request)
• No Smoking (Helps with equipment longevity, cleanliness and hygiene control)
The services within the home studio environment include:
Recording, Mixing, Mastering, Production, as well as Vocal/Career Coaching
The benefits don't stop at engineering alone, included with all paid services (mobile, remote, or in-house) is a promotions package catered to your needs, as it makes little sense to go from the bedroom to the studio, just to put the music right back in the bedroom. Once the music is engineered we work together to push it out to your current fans and the fans who don't know they are your fans YET.
