Experienced metal guitaristcomposer looking for like

First...I've been told my ads are long-winded. TRUE, but I'm okay with that if it saves time later...yours AND mine!

Educated and dedicated guitarist trying to find other pro-level players who want to play technical, melodic, rhythmically-driven, thoughtful metal. Not math or tech or djent. Just really heavy, well-written stuff that requires chops. I suppose it could be considered 'proggy?' Sure.

Maybe you're like me--music is your 'thing,' you practice because you love it, you want to get better individually and as a group, youre open-minded, and you're progressive-minded (not necessarily 'prog,' just forward!).

Do you write? If not, that's ok. If you DO, we definitely need to sit one-on-one and see if we can co-write. Doesn't have to be super-instant-magical, and it might take a time or two, but if you don't dig your co-writer's stuff....yikes, right?

Guitar: As a co-guitar player, I want to blend well with someone, obviously. I'd rather work with you to create awesome two-guitar wizardry, not compare number of solos. Someone who truly digs playing all aspects of guitar: rhythm, lead, harmony, texture, etc. Confident, skilled, and knows his stuff....but not a douche.

Drums: Obviously solid timing, but I know that's everyone's job! Obviously, a good drummer is just as 'musical' as anyone else in a band. Gotta love a player who tells a percussive story. And timing!

Vox: I'll admit it; I don't dig death vox, cookie monster, screeching, etc. I think it gets in the way of much of a singer's unique voice. I think guys like Corey Taylor, Chuck Billy, and 80s Hetfield sound WAY more 'metal,' and have a bigger vocal palette to use.

Although my list of 'influences' and 'fuck, yeah!' bands is like everyone else's, I'd like to think I'm no carbon copy of any. Who plays most in my old school CD player? Strapping Young Lad/Devin Townsend, Nevermore, Testament, Mastodon, old Metallica, Dream Theater, Slipknot/Stone Sour, Machine Head, Symphony X, Helloween, COB, Opeth, AIC, Pantera, old Pain of Salvation, Fates Warning, Vai, etc.

Oh, and things like job, transportation, pro-level gear, etc., are a given. Ain't gotta be rich, but I'm not looking to pay anyone else's bandspace rent.

So, say 'hi,' or 'gosh, that sounds like me!,' or 'I wanna play stuff like Loomis and Broderick in Nevermore!' or whatever.
