Fire and Life Lead Technician (Nashville)

TelForce Group has IMMEDIATE position open for Lead Technician (Fire and Safety Division) in the Nashville, TN area. Candidates must have extensive experience in the installation, programming and troubleshooting of Fire Alarm systems (Notifier, Firelite, SilentKnight, etc).

Position Summary
• The Lead Installation Technician is responsible for leading a crew installing a variety of systems during the installation phase of new construction and existing buildings.
• Installs, programs and troubleshoots Fire Alarm systems as required.
• Programs and troubleshoots other electronic systems from time to time.
• Maintains positive relationships with customers and contractors on the job site.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Performs all duties with honesty, integrity, and the pursuit of excellence.
• Directs all assigned personnel to achieve completion of the project on schedule, within budget, with quality workmanship that conforms to original plans and specifications.
• Coordinates and supervises all construction activities for low voltage systems installation.
• Communicates effectively with Project Manager and Field Supervisor to maintain construction schedule, and identify and solve problems.
• Promotes job site safety, encourages safe work practices, and rectifies job site hazards immediately. Ensures all company employees and subcontractors are adhering to company safety policy.
• Maintains an organized job site, including all documentation as required.
• Effectively utilizes Microsoft based computer and programs to document job progress and communicate with others.
• Maintains working knowledge of systems the company installs and adapts to and learns new systems as technology advances. Agrees to be a lifetime learner.

Other Duties and Responsibilities
• Takes part in on-call rotation for emergency after-hours service.
• From time to time may be called upon to assist in other divisions including but not limited to: Commercial Access Control, Residential/Commercial Service, and Residential Security.
• Attends scheduled company meetings.
• Attends training classes held either onsite or offsite as required.
• Occasionally travels to job sites over 2 hours away that require overnight stays.

Requirements
• Must have valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Must submit to and pass pre-employment drug screen and random drug screens as mandated by the Tennessee Drug Free Workplace program.
• Must be able to become a registered alarm employee under the requirements of the State of Tennessee.
• Must have extensive experience in the installation, programming and troubleshooting of Fire Alarm systems (Notifier, Firelite, SilentKnight, etc).
• Must have clear and effective oral and written communication skills.
• Must have advanced knowledge of how to read and interpret architectural, electrical, and mechanical drawings.
• Must be able to pull and suspend wire according to code.
• Must be able to safely use hand and power tools.
• Must be able to effectively communicate with on-site supervisors to address minor problems that may arise in the field.

Physical Demands
• Must be able to regularly move up to 15 pounds, and frequently move up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to ascend, descend, and work atop ladders of varying heights, and exceeding 30 feet.
• Must be able to distinguish colors and sound tones.
• Must be able to recognize horn and/or warning devices at a distance of 30 yards.
• Must be able to observe and detect signs of dangerous obstacles at a distance of 30 yards and to verify written information at a close range.

Work Conditions
• Work is conducted indoors and outdoors in a variety of weather conditions and within extreme temperature ranges.
• From time to time the technician will be required to enter confined areas.

Tools
• Technician should be able to personally furnish a complete set of hand tools necessary for this position.
• Company will supply corded and cordless power tools.
• Company provided vehicle, laptop, cell phone, uniform, power tools, and other equipment as needed.
