I am looking for a home for a very sweet cat. He was a stray who showed up at my apartment complex a few weeks ago and he was extremely friendly and would approach both people and vehicles alike. I wanted to bring him inside so that he would not get hit by a car. I took him to the vet to get checked out and vaccinated and he tested positive for FIV. FIV cannot be transmitted to people or dogs but it is contagious from cat to cat. I have two cats of my own and cannot have him transmitting FIV to either of them so I am forced to keep him shut up in a small extra bedroom completely isolated from my cats. This is not fair to him to keep him cooped up and he would do best in an indoor only home as an only cat. He is neutered and is very good with my hyper dog and I think he would make a great companion for someone. The doctor estimates that he is about 6 years old and says his prognosis is great and he still has several more healthy years ahead of him before succumbing to full blown AIDS. He did get his Rabies Vaccine when I took him in and I would send that home with the new owner as well as his current food which can be switched if you'd like as it is an expensive.
