FSFT 1987 SWB GMC 4x4 Truck Daily Driver Project

3000 USD

FS/FT 1987 SWB GMC 4x4 Truck Daily Driver Project. The truck starts right up and drives well. This is a pretty solid truck overall. I drive it daily back and forth to work about 40 miles round trip including highway travel. It has the TBI 350 with 700R4 4 speed auto, a 4" lift front and rear with new 33x12.5 BFG A/T tires. I have recently just had 3200$ worth of work done to the rolling parts of the truck.

The Good:

The new parts include: New Brakes front and rear, New Master Cylinder, New front Drive Shaft, New wheel bearings and wheel seals, Rebuilt Hubs, New U-Joints and New Tires. In addition I have replaced some parts myself which include: New spark plugs, New Plug Wires, New Coil, New Ignition Module, New Temp Sensor, New Distributor Cap, New Ignition Switch, New Wiper Switch, New Blinker Switch and New Dual tank switch. I also have some additions new switches for the electric windows and locks and new door locks that have not been installed yet. The switches in the truck do function. Included with these new parts I have installed a newer delay wiper motor and module. 4WD work really good.

The Bad:

As you can see in the pictures the truck is not the prettiest but still does not look bad. It has some dents and scratches from 4wheeling and a bit of rust in common areas. The truck will come with good used replacement sheet metal parts including a complete donor cab because there is a small dent on passenger roof where it meet a tree in the woods. The truck has an oil and power steering leak. Its not real bad but needs to be fixed. I believe the oil is leaking from the rear main and the power steering is leaking from a hose fitting. When cold, the engine hesitates a few times on acceleration but quickly operates normally once warm but never fails to start on the first hit. Transmission shift slowly, Its completely functional and drives well but it does not seem to shift like I think it should. It may be a torque converter pressure issue. Ever though all gauges are working the interior need major help. The electric windows role up and down but are weak and the electric door lock do not work. It may be the switches that I have replacements for but I have not tested yet. The dash and gauge bezel are beyond repair so I have never reinstalled them in the truck. The radio also needs to be reinstalled. The heater works good but the vacuum in the system does not switch the output of the air. The A/C does not work but its is complete and intact. May be switch and a charge.

I will let this truck go for $3000 obo or will trade for 67-87 swb 2wd chevy/gmc truck in daily driving condition like this one. No other trades will be considered at this time. If you do not have the money please do not contact until you do. I do not need help selling this truck. It is best to contact me by text. Contact information is above.

Possible Project additions:

In addition to what is listed above, as part of this project I had a running driving 2004 chevy truck that rolled over. I striped it completely down as a donor for this project. The 2004 had 43k miles on it and was a 2wd. If interested with the purchase of the truck I would sell the complete drivetrain for the 2004 including LS 5.3 with 4l60E both complete with uncut wiring harness, full acc and DBW pedal and ECU. Additionally it will include the complete uncut chassis wiring harness and fuse boxes. The 2004 ABS Brake Booster with front brakes w/ all sensors and computer and the 6- lug disc brake rear end with uncut emer cable. Also included is radiator and core support with all hoses and connections and the complete AC System inside and out. The 2004 truck was also pw/pwl which all would be including, motors and switches. Any other miscellaneous parts I took off the truck would be included but not necessarily usable on this truck. Also I would include in this lot a complete front clip from an 89 suburban (Color of which you can see on the passenger door) with the side by side dual headlights. The include light, grill, core support, fender inner and outer and hood. If you bought the truck for the asking price this additional stuff could be had for just $2500 more which would bring the total to $5500. I have some picture of these parts if interested. I will not be selling the parts separate from the truck so please do not ask.
