We are looking for healthy volunteers between the ages of 18-60 to complete a panel of auditory tests designed to look at the relationship between basic auditory processing (hearing) skills and the ability to identify emotional content in vocal samples. Qualifying participants will have normal hearing and no history of mental health diagnoses or serious head injury. Study activities will include several tests of hearing ability, tests in which the participant identifies emotions expressed in vocal samples, brief tests of cognitive skills (e.g. attention, memory, and problem solving) and tests of daily living skills. The study will be completed over a single 6-hour visit to our location in Duke Clinic, on the Duke University Medical Center campus. Participants will receive compensation for participation.
