I'm looking for folks interested in playing heathen folk rock. And by that I mean folk that rocks, not folk with electric guitars. Maybe I should say acoustic folk metal?
I'm looking to do original tunes, maybe kipe some traditional melodies, but we're not going to be playing "The Jolly Tinker" at some saint paddy's party. I mean honestly... How many renditions of "Rocky Road To Dublin" does the world need? Anyway...
I'm looking for folks who are willing to participate in the writing process. As much as I'd love to, I don't play fiddle, I can't write your parts for you. It's all about the team work.
Goals for the band:
1.) Have fun
2.) Write some songs
3.) Record those songs
4.) Play wild shows
5.) Have more fun
Repeat as necessary.
I play guitar and plan on singing, although I would like everyone to sing to some extent. I want some mean harmonies. I also plan on playing some mandolin, bouzouki, and 12 string guitar.
Musicians I'd like to find (but don't expect to) can play:

Tin whistle, low whistle, all whistles, wood flutes, recorder
Bag pipes
hurdy gurdy
Nyckelharpa
hammered dulcimer
Bass guitar
Eventually I'd like to add a drumer with full kit, but for now it would be relegated mostly to hand percussion so I don't have to worry over practice space issues.
Also, I plan on singing in Old English, not to be confused with Shakespearean English, I mean Anglo-Saxon English, which is more closely related to German than modern English. Anyway it just sounds cool.
