hiring in

Looking to hire several people to provide in-home support for an elderly woman who lives on her own. The helper should be able to commit to the job until the client's situation changes significantly. Preference will be given to applicants with nursing experience -- at this point no nursing skills are required, but that will likely change before too long.

- Hiring for morning and afternoon shifts sevens days a week. Each shift is 3-4 hours.

- Duties are • preparing a meal; • making sure the client takes her pills and drinks water; • helping out in the bathroom if necessary (at this point it mostly isn't); • making sure the client's hearing aid is in and working; • generally just being company

- At this point, no actual nursing skills/experience are required - the closest is helping out in the bathroom. However, nursing skills/experience are a big plus

- Reliable transportation is a must

- Scheduling is done over email and google calendar, so reliable internet access and basic web literacy are necessary

- Hours are flexible (in the past the 14 shifts have been split by as few as 2 and as many as 5 people)

- Schedule is fairly flexible. Changes requested less than two weeks in advance cannot be guaranteed (emergency last-minute changes can be made directly with the client's other helpers

- Client is hard of hearing. Hard to predict who she can and can't understand, so this won't be factored in until later in the hiring process

- Bonus points for using a smart phone that has strong service around the hollows of Alstead/Marlow (Verizon / US Cellular are usually solid, but you know best how good your service is)

Please submit a letter of application by email. Tell us a little about yourself, providing as many relevant local references as possible. Depending on references / lack of references a background check may be required.

This is not an agency posting - you'll be working directly with the client's
