International Student Exchange (ISE) is looking for Volunteer host families to share in a culturally rewarding experience, hosting foreign exchange high school students from around the globe. Having someone from another country stay in your home can be a real eye-opener for kids and parents alike! Suddenly you will become more aware of your community and surroundings as you introduce it to somebody that has never experienced it.
We are currently recruiting families in the following NC areas:-
* Research Triangle Region
* Triad/Greater Triad
* Fayetteville/Greater Fayetteville
* Charlotte/Greater Charlotte
For the following programs:-
* AYP 15/16 - (Aug. 2015 - June 2016)
* Fall '15 - (Aug. 2015 - Jan. 2016)
Our Students:
- Aged 15 to 18 1/2
- Come from over 40 countries
- Arrive with spending money and full health insurance
- Speak English
- Must maintain good grades
- Want to share cultures
Host Family Requirements:
- An English-speaking home environment
- A genuine interest in opening your home and heart to an international student and welcoming them as part of your family
- Provide 3 balanced meals a day (2 if your student elects to purchase lunch at school; they will use their own spending money), and snacks
- Provide your student with a quiet place to study and their own bed (they may share a bedroom with a sibling of the same sex and similar age)
- Pass an interview and criminal background check
Our Host Families Receive:
- Host Family Orientation
- 24/7 local, regional and national support
- A $50 per month charitable contribution deduction on your itemized tax returns
- The best fit for your family--you choose your student
- Opportunity to learn about new cultures and customs, and participate in outbound programs
- Friends for life in another country
