I've been practicing traditional archery (mostly heavy longbow) for a few years now, and unfortunately I've lost contact with my small group of friends who I used to shoot with.
I'm looking for people who share my interest to join me. You don't have to be an expert, or have any experience, I'd love to teach you and help you along. If you've ever tried to get into this sport before, you might have found it difficult, or simply did not have the time and money to dedicate yourself to buying the equipment to get started. I have my own stuff, (a nice handmade made bow, arrows that I fletched, gloves and bracers and other protective equipment, etc.) and I'll let you use it until you get around to buying your own.
I usually shoot in a great little target range set up in Pasadena with bales and long-range targets and everything, but I also love hiking and going offroad in remote locations and setting up my own range (I have a few personal targets).
I also have bowfishing equipment and hunting arrowheads, if you like fishing and hunting, you'll have an opportunity to experience it like never before.
If you decide to try this out with me, we'll have fun target-shooting sessions and play some really cool medieval games. I'm not a professional instructor, so don't expect me to get you into the Olympics, but I can definitely give you a great base to build off, and from that only your practice and dedication will decide how well you do.
One thing to keep in mind is, you don't have to be super fit, but let me know your strength level if you don't have your own bow, because mine is pretty heavy. Depending on your conditions, we might actually need to do a bit of physical training before you get around to shooting without injuring yourself.
