I'm from LA, and there is a pretty big punk scene, and I'm not just talking bars, with only 21 year olds, I mean a crust-ish community oriented punk scene? House shows, small bands in shitty venues, is there an underground punk scene? Small punk shows?
Is there any way to get involved with the scene, and are there any bands I should see?

In LA, the scene is pretty open, but I have experienced other punk scenes in other cities in the USA, and they have been pretty exclusive and unfriendly.
