Jamathon (music workshop) (Hartford)

Imagine events in which passionate, motivated musicians gather to compose for several hours uninterrupted until a demo is developed.

Mission:
Establish a community of musicians who teach / learn, improvise, compose, rehearse, perform, and tour together in an encouraging organized, professional environment.

We'll need:
Large music-friendly location
Music equipment
Local musicians
Food (to fuel the creativity)
Funding / Sponsors (for utilities)

Disclaimers:
Jamathons are to help frustrated musicians as myself find people who may help them complete songs. Jamathons are to be held in private locations, (they are not open-mics). Jamathons do not replace conventional means of creativity but are done in addition to them. Jamathons are not intended to fund-raise. I mentioned funds / sponsors only because they may be needed to make this possible since venues are not free and homeowners pay for utilities. Organizing a Jamathon may be as simple as inviting many musicians to a home and hosting a potluck with a room that is appropriate for music (good acoustics), large enough, has plenty of electrical outlets, etc).

*This is a general idea, I'm not sure how to make this happen. I live in Hartford, CT but am trying to encourage other people to try this idea in their city and share their progress with.
