We're looking for a technical-leaning copywriter who wants to make it easier for millions of users to tell their stories. The UX/UI Writer will shape the voice of our companies mobile and desktop apps by writing exceptional user interface copy, help text and other documentation, and contributing to style guidelines.You'll join our companies hard-working, ultra-collaborative Software + Services UX Design Team and work side-by-side with user experience designers, researchers, product managers and engineers. This role supports the Senior UX Content Strategist, so you'll have the opportunity to work on user research and testing, taxonomy development and other bigger-picture initiatives as needed. This is a great role for a fastidious technical writer with a strong grasp of voice, devotion to brand and understanding of how to use words to help users accomplish their goals.
What You'll Do: Write (and co-write) engaging, on-brand user interface text, help text, instructional and support content and more, primarily for our desktop and mobile apps. Collaborate with UX design leads to solidify flows and populate wireframes, primarily for our desktop and mobile apps. Work with many different stakeholders on requirements discovery. Collaborate closely with other writers and brand marketers to develop and refine the voice of our software. Identify and help define terminology and feature nomenclature as needed. Help develop and execute user tests and research plans as needed. Skills We're Stoked About: 2-3 years of technical writing experience, with a preference for software and digital platforms. Experience translating technical documentation into user-friendly, goal-oriented, human language. Really, really good verbal communication skills: you can articulate the reasoning behind your language decisions and you're able to solicit the information you need from others to produce the most appropriate content. Integrating feedback: You can sit in a room workshopping material with a positive attitude, and stand up for your material while diplomatically receiving and synthesizing feedback. Solid understanding of the nuances between desktop, mobile and web platforms. A willingness to forgo the Oxford comma (mostly).
