We are conducting a research study that assesses the effectiveness of language learning via different methods. We are currently looking for people interested in learning German. The study will last 4 weeks, and will pay $60 (via Amazon gift card) upon successful completion. Please review the eligibility requirements below to see if you can participate.

To participate in the study you must:
- be at least 18 years of age
- be a native speaker of English
- have grown up in an English-only home
- have not been regularly exposed to a language other than English before age 5
- have no (or very minimal) knowledge of German
- have never had a speech or hearing disorder
- have access to a computer with Internet connection

In order to receive payment you will have to:

1) study German for at least 4 hours within 4 weeks using the learning application we provide (you will be able to study on your own time via a web-based application)

2) send us recordings of your web-based study sessions (as proof of reaching the study time minimum; using, e.g., screen recording with QuickTime Player)

3) complete two surveys: one at the beginning and one at the end of the study (the surveys will include demographic and language background questions, as well as questions related to your motivation for learning German and your impressions of the method you use)

4) complete a language test at the end of the study that evaluates your proficiency in German
