LFG Writers Class Quest (Battery Park)

I'm looking for a group of writers to read and critique one another's work. Last summer I participated in the Write About Dragons project (sort of a correspondence course based on Brandon Sanderson's class at BYU, link at the bottom), so writers interested in his particular method of critique would be great. Likewise, writers who are geeks would be a good fit. I enjoy fantasy and scifi, and can offer the best feedback to similarly geeky people (that said, my favorite author is Steinbeck, so more literary types are great as well). Most important of all though, I'm looking for people who want to turn this into more than a hobby. The group last summer eventually fell apart when certain members stopped hitting deadlines for submission and critiquing, and other members got demoralized. Writing shouldn't make you miserable, but if you're not willing to treat it as seriously as a real job, this probably won't be a good fit.

I think 4-6 is an ideal number for a group like this. The team pairs into smaller groups, and each week one of the groups posts what they've completed to date, then the other members have a few days to read the pieces and offer feedback. I can set up a google group for those interested, and I'm also down to meet up in the flesh in the Brooklyn/Lower Manhattan area from time to time if anyone is interested.
