I have been doing licensed child care and Preschool in Colorado for 20 years. I am a mother of three.
We like to do a lot of reading. My preschool program starts at 2 years old, but I also involve the
younger children. We do a lot of learning through Montessori activities and play, manipulatives (math),
baking (science), music and movement (dance and singing), finger puppets, puzzles, and dramatic
play. Learning doesn't have to be boring or tedious.
The children learn the basics needed for kindergarden, plus a lot more. I do a different theme for each
week of the year, all year. Children don't stop learning during the summer. I have a fine arts degree
and enjoy instilling children with a love of the arts. We do a lot of arts and crafts. During the summer
we do 2 or 3 swimming sessions.
Children learn through sight, touch, and sound, so we go on field trips too. Exploring the world around
you is an amazing way to absorb knowledge. I have memberships at the Denver Nature & Science
Museum, World of Wonder (WOW) Museum, Denver Botanical Gardens, Zoo, Butterfly Pavilian, and the
Colorado Railroad Museum. We also go to Berry Patch Farms (an organic you-pick-it farm), and lots of
parks with playgrounds.
I feed the children breakfast, lunch, plus morning and afternoon snacks. I cook their food from scratch.
We drink milk without hormones. I don't give the children foods with artificial dyes.
Child Care Openings: I have an opening for a child 16 months or older starting May 6th. I have two
openings for children 2 years and up. One opening is for full time, and the other opening is for every
other week . I also have a before-and-after-school opening.
