45 y/o guitarist looking for musicians who are early Pink Floyd fanatics (UFO club days, Piper at the Gates of Dawn, Saucerful of Secrets, More, Ummagumma, Live at Pompeii, Obscured by Clouds, Meddle) to create original music in this style...long, spacey, primal to futuristic jams.
I don't mind doing some of their covers, but want the focus to be on original material. This is not meant to be a tribute band in the sense of covers, or matching roles.
I like all eras of Floyd, but musically want to create music similar to their early style, with lots of improvisation.
I am most interested in finding people who share a similar interest and vision. I am not terribly concerned with your current skill level or equipment, as long as you are motivated to expand on these with time. Thus, I am in no hurry to find just anyone to fill the spots.Â
Creatively, I am partial to the form of 4 primary musicians in the band. So, I am looking for a keyboard player, bass, and drummer. Unfortunately, I do not sing very well, so it would be good if one or two of you do. I am definitely interested in collaborating with additional people for visual end of things as well.
Looking to write original material, rehearse, record in some form...and EVENTUALLY do some shows locally...NOT in it for the money or to go "pro"...this is for creative and fun purposes...though I certainly want to maintain a forward creative momentum and progress toward aforementioned goals.
If you're pushy with a business plan or itching to do gigs ASAP, this is not the project for you.
