Looking for Trombone or Trumpet for IndieFolkRock Band (Uptown)
We're currently a 4-piece Indie Rock Folk group looking to include new string members in our project. We consist of guitar/vox/accordion, cello/mandolin, violin and flute/accordion (we also have a trumpet, ukulele, theremin, and piano lying around).
We're looking for a trumpet or trombone to include in the ensemble. If you can play multiple instruments, even better! We like to swap instruments, just to keep the music dynamic. So if you can play guitar or keys as well that would be awesome. If not, no big deal.
This is a serious project, and we want people who are willing to commit to rehearsals and can travel/tour, record, and help out with other logistics. We're between the ages of 24-28.
Primary influences include Neutral Milk Hotel and Arcade Fire as well as bands like the Decemberists, Tindersticks, Defiance Ohio, Andrew Jackson Jihad, Beulah, Man Man, Rock Plaza Central, Joanna Newsom. We'd like to have a lot of layers, instrumentation, and dynamics. We also don't want to stick to one mood or tempo, or always have the same instruments being played.
Here is the EP we recorded in CA as a 6-piece. We released it 2 years ago and would like to continue to perform some of these songs. http://midnight-parade.bandcamp.com/

We have demos of some new songs that I can share if you're interested.
So if you're interested, send us an email. Tell us a little about yourself: experience, favorite bands, age, location, etc.
