ltgt Never give up

4 USD

In 2006, my husband and I told our 13 yr old grandson that we would foster his beloved Siamese cats, Scooby and Scatter, while he was in Japan 3 years with his Navy dad and family. The two cats fit in well with our existing cat and dog and all was well. We went to visit our kids in Japan in November 2007 and the day after we returned home, Scatter, disappeared. We hired a pet detective, printed hundred of fliers, canvassed the neighborhoods, searched all the shelters and posted diligently on Craigslist. Many false hopes along the way but no Scatter. Time passed but hope never did.

In June of 2009, we received a call from a lady named Raena who was searching for her missing cat - she had been to the Humane Society on Hatcher and seen a cat that looked very much like the one that we had lost. I went off to Mass and my husband went to AHS to check it out. When I got out of Mass, I had a call to call my husband and he wanted me to come to AHS to see this cat. I got there and guess what...IT was our grandson's cat, Scatter!!!! He had been gone for over 18 months and here we were, face-to-face with him again. Not only was it wonderful for us it was a perfect gift for our grandson as we were able to call him that day - June 28th which was his 16th birthday - and tell him that we had a very special surprise for him and were flying him to PHX from San Diego.

Moral of the Story...don't give up as all it takes is one person to see your missing pet to get them back home to you. God Bless all who are searching and all the animals and those who love.
