Maximus (Max for short) needs a new home. He's about 6 months old, up to date on all of his shots and is neutered. He weighs around 50 lbs, maybe a little bit less. We took him in as a puppy when some friends found him on the highway. He's a very sweet and affectionate boy, and very excitable. I think he'd be best in a home with someone that maybe wants to take him hiking/running, etc. We have one small dog and he tries to play with her, but he's so big he ends up just squishing her. We have two young children and he gets a little too excited with them, too, which is one reason I'm looking for a new home for him- but the other thing is that my son has a severe skin issue that Max's fur seems to aggravate. Training- Max is potty trained, responds very well to his name and will "sit" on command. He's been left out to roam the house when we go places and has never chewed anything up (not even shoes!) but will jump up to the table/counter if he thinks there's food up there. He is not leash trained and though I crate trained him in the beginning, I haven't had him in one since he was about three months old. I think he'd do best in a home without small children (7 and up should be okay) and he does great with other bigger dogs but small ones he tends to be too rough with. I've never had him around a cat before so I don't know how he'd respond to one. If you're interested in taking him home, please send me a text message (PLEASE don't email me, I rarely check my mail and there's a good chance I'll miss your message) letting me know you'd like to meet with him- if you have another dog/kids/significant other that will be living with him, please bring them so you can see how everyone gets along. I want him to go to another loving home and will be careful to send him to one. He'll come with his food bowls, his bed, and his collar. Thank!
