MEET PETEY THE PERPETUAL PUPPY! This handsome, petite guy is named Petey! He is likely around 5 years old and was brought to Philly's animal control shelter after being found tied to a pole outside in the cold. Petey spent a few weeks in the shelter before coming down with a pretty nasty cold from the stress of living in the shelter. In order to save his life, City of Elderly Love stepped up and offered him a foster home! Petey is now loving life outside of the shelter and is almost over his kennel cough. He has an adorable puppy-like face and a unique white and brown coat. He has some lingering hairloss from what looks to be a flea allergy. Luckily, his fleas are long gone and with his now healthy diet and stronger immune system, his patchy fur is filling in nicely! Petey weighs just around 35 lbs. He has quickly caught on to the routine and has done very well with housebreaking. He loves meeting new people and draws attention everywhere he goes because of his adorable personality and gorgeous good looks. Petey is still settling into his new foster home and getting used to his surroundings so he's a little unsure of new people approaching him and his foster mom, but only takes a couple seconds to fall in love with new friends. He showes a little too much interest in cats and would likely do best in a home without them so he doesn't try to chase and stress them out. Petey met lots of dogs at the shelter and did great in all of his interactions - he's friendly, comfortable and plays well! Petey does get excited to see other dogs on leash and tries hard to meet them. He will likely settle down once adjusted to life outside of the shelter, but could also use some help gaining confidence of his own! Don't worry though, this smart guy will make it all worth your while. He'll gladly provide his future family lots of love, laughs and hours of cuddling. Petey is available for adoption through City of Elderly Love! He is vaccinated and will be neutered and microchipped prior to going to his forever home. Interested in meeting him?
