Nampa Animal Control Daily Update (Nampa)

In an attempt to aid those of you who have lost your pet, Nampa Animal Control plans to post daily updates on the dogs we pick up in the city of Nampa and bring to the West Valley Humane Society. With that in mind, all dogs we pick up who do not have a microchip or identification tags leading back to their owner are taken to the West Valley Humane Society (5801 Graye Ln, Caldwell). Please make sure that your dog has a collar with identification tags on it and/or is microchipped. If a dog does not have any type of identification on it, we are unable to bring it home and it poses a risk of being injured while at large. If your dog does have tags and/or a microchip, MAKE SURE that the information is up-to-date!!!! Therefore, if you recognize any of the dog(s) listed or have questions about the dog(s) listed in these postings, please contact the shelter, NOT Nampa Animal Control. So if you have lost your dog, go to the shelter as soon as possible.

If you have lost your dog go to the shelter. Do not just call them. Go there! Fill out a description in the "Missing Animal" book. And those of you who have found an animal, fill out the "Found Animal" book. We use these all the time to try to find people's pets. Go to the shelter to look at the dogs that have been brought in recently (these dogs are in the back and not for the general public to look at, yet).

If you find a dog, DO NOT FEED it if you plan to have it picked up. Wait for animal control to arrival before assessing a dog's condition. Feeding a dog unknown food may further injure the dog, i.e. make it sick.

NOTE: If you find a dog in a different county/city than where you live DO NOT bring it home and call your local Animal Control/Shelter to take it. If you find a dog in Ada County (Boise, Kuna, etc), bring it to the Idaho Humane Society or Meridian Animal Shelter. If you find a dog in Canyon County (Nampa, Caldwell, etc.) bring it to the West Valley Humane Society. Dogs found in differing counties will not be accepted by the shelters and it makes it VERY difficult to find an owner of a lost dog. Do the dog a favor and report it where you found.
