We are a family of 7 looking for any help we can get with the construction of our cabin.
We have a 12x24 metal building that we have had to move into due to mold in our 3 bedroom 2 bath mobile home.
I was hit by a drunk driver while sleeping on my couch 6 years ago and even though the SSD courts said I am disabled they denied my claim because they said I was to young, so now we are living off my wife's salary as a school employee. It is just me, my wife and our 5 small children trying to give ourselves a healthy home to live in. We are looking for everything but the kitchen sink....seriously, my wife found a kitchen sink at Lowe's for $25 and we have spent every penny we had on the electrical wiring to get power to the building.
Right now our main concern is getting the electrical hooked up and the place insulated for winter. We are grateful people so any help you could give us will not be unappreciated even if it's only laboring. Because of my back I can not do much work so it has been mostly my wife doing the labor.
We have contacted habitat for humanity since they are a nation wide help organization, but they refused us because they don't help Madison county residents. So we have been left with no other option but to post on here and hope to appeal to the humanity and good nature of the NWA community.
We are in need of things such as; insulation, dry wall, flooring, windows, lumber, doors, plumbing, etc... We don't care if its new, old, or scrap from construction/remodel...We are grateful people and will be truly thankful for whatever we can get.
Unfortunately we only have a small car and no access to a truck , so we can't haul much of anything. Again I would like to say that ANY help we can get will be truly appreciated.
