Meet Mr. Oh-So-handsome-Oh, also known as OSO!
We are doing our research trying to figure out what breed this boy is! He is reported to be a Pittie mix, but also has the markings of a Boxer and the coat and look of a Hound mix also! Well one thing is for certain-- he is handsome! Oso is 2 years old, 50 pounds, and found himself at the shelter when his owners no longer had a place for him to live. They reported that Oso is house-trained, knows sit, and he takes treats oh so gently. He also lived with children. We have spent some time with Oso now and found that he loves to chase soft, squeaky toys and romp around the play yard. He is still a young guy with plenty of energy, but has nice manners and is not a jumpy boy. He is focused on his handler when working on training sessions and will sit nicely with a hand command for treats. He comes when called, walks nicely on a harness, has learned 'Paw' and 'Down' also! Oso is an affectionate boy who likes to climb on your lap or lean across it for some head rubs. He might also try to use it as a perch to see what's going on outside the play yard. He is always looking to meet new friends!
Oso has had a few dog meets at the shelter and is quite a playful boy! He might like to have a canine sibling in his home- especially one who would like to play with him. He also did well on his cat test at the shelter; he seemed to want to play-- wagging his tail, and play bowing the cat! With slow intros, we think he could live well in a home with cats also. **Check out Oso's video!

Oso is part of the Pen Pal program at the shelter. The program pairs dogs with volunteers who work on basic training, help the dog deal with stress of the shelter by spending time with them, and help the adoptive family transition the dog into their home. Oso's Pen Pal will help any adoptive or foster family with the transition into their home! For more info on the Pen Pal program see--http://www.acctphilly.org/programs/penpals/about/ <>
