The University of Michigan Department of Psychiatry is looking for research participants
between the ages of 8 and 18 years for a study on pediatric emotional and behavioral disorders.
You may be eligible if you meet the following criteria:
- Between the ages of 8 and 18
- Caucasian
- Have been diagnosed with emotional and/or behavioral issues OR you have NEVER been
diagnosed with ANY mental health concern (healthy controls)
- Do not have a substance abuse history
- Do not have a history of epilepsy or a seizure disorder
- Are not currently suicidal
- If you are under the age of 18, you must live with at least one biological parent
- Must have reliable transportation for travel to appointments
If you are eligible to participate you will:
- Complete an initial structured interview
- Provide a small saliva and/or small blood sample
- Complete an EEG recording
- Complete decision-making tasks
This study involves 2 - 3 separate visits compensating up to $200 for child/adolescent
participants and up to $20 for the parents of participants. A parent is required to participate. We
are seeking participants with behavioral/emotional concerns as well as healthy controls.
